HYDERABAD:
Congress veteran leader V Hanumanth Rao has found fault with the TPCC disciplinary action committee for its soft stand against party leaders, including former MLC Premsagar Rao.
He demanded stringent action against all those violating the party discipline. Hanumanth Rao was abused by the followers of Prem Sagar Rao when he had gone to the districts to hold protest programmes seeking justice for paddy farmers in tune with the orders of AICC leadership.
“The show cause notice issued by the disciplinary action committee is too soft. This is no way of seeking an explanation from those who have humiliated a veteran leader like me. The AICC leadership should seriously look into this issue,” he demanded.
Hanumanth Rao also alleged that TPCC president A Revanth Reddy is not keen on taking action against the party members violating Congress disciplinary rules. “Though I had opposed Revanth’s appointment as TPCC president, later I extended my total support to him after the AICC leadership appointed him as the Pradesh committee president. This is not the way of dealing with a senior leader like me,” he said and demanded that the political affairs committee meeting be convened to discuss the issue.
